Friday Fun Fact: Your tape measure's secret!

 Did you know you have a secret measurement gauge in one of your most common sewing tools? It might even be right next to you right now!

Of course your tape measure, well, measures, but you can also use it as a seam gauge in a pinch. A standard tape measure is exactly 5/8" wide - the same as our most common pattern seam allowance.

So next time you need to check a seam allowance, just turn your tape measure sideways for a quick look!
