Cotton Sateen Ribbons

We have lots of pretty new trims in the store, including these fresh cotton sateen ribbons.

Yes, that's right, cotton ribbons! These wonderfully soft natural fiber ribbons have a quiet sheen more subtle than polyester or silk. Plus they're double-faced, so that satiny gleam looks lovely on both sides.

New Trims!

We have some great new additions to our ribbon and trim section. Take a look!

A sweet cotton lace trim doesn't need to be white. Toss a little color in there!

I can never resist polka dots - can you? - especially printed on cream colored cotton.

These contrast-edgestitched ribbons would look great in rows at the hem of a solid-color skirt, or replacing that boring twill tape as a drawstring!

The only thing better than rick rack must be floral printed rick rack!

Use these wired edge ribbons any time you want to make a shape that stays - perfect for big bows that won't get floppy! Or you can simply remove the wire if you need a softer ribbon.

So go ahead and add a little trim!

Printed Cotton Ribbons

We have some wonderful new cotton ribbons at Treadle. In an easy-to-blend cream color and printed with sewing notions and sweet messages, they have an appealing simplicity.

Cotton ribbons have a lovely feel, not shiny or slick, but smooth and natural. Like twill tape, they make great drawstrings, either for garments or crafts. Try using them for drawstrings in pajama pants or crafts like bags or paintbrush rolls. Decorate the hem of a skirt, or use as applique on a quilt! The "handmade with love" ribbon would even make a sweet little tag inside a garment.

We have so many beautiful ribbons and trims in the store. Come take a look!

Owl Ribbons

We have a sweet selection of new coordinating ribbons at Treadle, featuring adorable owls, flowers, and leaves. The color palette is bright and fun, with bold hues against a cream-colored background.

These delightful ribbons are printed grosgrain, which has a subtle ribbed texture without too much shine. Ideal for bags, purses, and crafts, as well as adorning garments. There is nothing more springy than beautiful ribbons trailing in the breeze!

Holiday ribbons

In addition to holiday-themed fabrics, we also have a selection of holiday ribbons.

The brocade and jacquard ribbons would make a colorful trim for a craft project or a little girl's party dress, while those printed with words are perfect for tying gifts.

Cotton Trims

I love this collection of cotton ribbons and tape trims.

With dashed stripes that mimic stitching or narrow stripes reminiscent of cotton shirting, the subdued quality of this group is appealing.

Use a piece inside a classic shirt for a hidden detail or to peek out inside a cuff.  Add a couple ribbon stripes to the hem of a gathered skirt for an un-fussy embellishment.

Floral ribbons

These pretty ribbons arrived recently.  Available in several colors, they're sheer organza ribbon with big, monochromatic flowers scattered over the length.  Each flower is accented with a tiny pearl bead.

The wired edge makes them ideal for crafts, as they can be formed into bows and loops that will hold their shape.  Or simply pull the wire out for a softer look on garments.  These would make a sweet hem trim on a little girl's dress, or make a summery belt or hat band.

New Stuff!

We here at Treadle are having a little Christmas in October this week.
New and exciting things are arriving daily for the fall and I'll share little glimpses here on the Treadle Blog for the next few days.
We'll start small today, in size at least.
We received some adorable new trims this week from Renaissance Ribbons.
Very fun for headbands or edging a little girl's dress.
On the left there is a hint of what's to come in tomorrow's post, so stay tuned for that!
We also got in these very fun bias bindings from Anna Maria Horner. Bias tape is so useful, but is often quite boring. These new trims are anything but boring and I can't wait to throw one into a project.

Now what could be coming to this empty table? You'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out.
Don't forget to come in for our annual Fall Sale.
You only have 4 more days to come in and save 20-50% on every fabric in the store!
