Skirt from our Flickr Pool

This cute skirt was spotted in our Treadle Flickr Pool. Using quilting-weight cotton in a bright print and accented with pink chenille ball fringe and reflective trim (yes, that's right!) this is a wonderfully simple project that packs a lot of pop.

Flickr user chrisrknits added this lovely photo to the Treadle Flickr pool.  She used selvage strips to stabilize the shoulder seams on the sequinned fabric, made crepe de chine facings, and hand rolled the hems on this gorgeous jacket.

We've recently gotten some lovely new sequinned and ribbon-embroidered fabrics and laces in at Treadle, perfect for your next dressy ensemble.

Cute Dress

Hi All,
This week I was working with my friend Jess, of My Friend Jess, and she had the most inspirational dress on. It was agreed, that she just had to share it here.The fabric is a wool boucle made up in a vintage, 1970's pattern. In true Jess fashion, pun not intended, she added the tree and bird outlines in felt.
Such a striking and whimsical way to let a garment make a statement.

Modeling my sister's (a bit too big for me) wedding dress of my own design for her preview. She wears a strapless bra under this dress of Duchess silk satin, taffeta silk, silk organza, bemberg rayon lining all from Treadle Yard Goods. Her fiance and soon to be brother-in-law provided the guitar picks. I painted these a pearlized white and drilled holes in them so that they could be used for embellishment. The swarovski crystals and silver lined seed beads were in my stash.
