Treadlette Tuesday: Marina's English Paper Piecing

It's Treadlette Tuesday, when we share projects, inspiration, and ideas for you from our lovely Treadle Yard Goods employees, The Treadlettes!

Today we're sharing Marina's latest project!

Can you believe these sweet little coasters are entirely hand-sewn? It's easier than you think!

Marina used the English paper piecing technique, and created a small project that's easy to finish and perfect to learn on. She's teaching how to make these in a class coming up in August!

Treadlette Tuesday: Elizabeth's Collage Dress (and class!)

Elizabeth made this summery dress from a combination of knit and woven scraps. She calls it her collage dress!

The pieces of these fabrics were too big and just too pretty to throw away, but there wasn't enough of any single one to make a whole dress, so she improvised!

You can make this improvised dress, too! It starts with a basic t-shirt pattern that you cut up and modify in our Collage Dress class!

Click here to learn more about the class and register!

Treadlette Tuesday: Elizabeth's Quilt

Elizabeth made this bright, cheerful quilt from a fabulous panel print we have in the store. The panel and several coordinates are part of the Soulshine and Daydreams collection - see them here! Elizabeth also chose several fabrics from Treadle to fill in the design, including prints from Tula Pink and Kaffe Fassett. (Plus a few from her stash, of course!)

This pattern is available for FREE at the Benartex website - click here to get it!

For backing, she chose a Cloud 9 Organic cotton floral print from the store.

She quilted it herself with a free-motion curlicue pattern.

And put in a few extra details around the face!

You can see this quilt on display at Treadle. Plus, Elizabeth is teaching our Beginning Quilting class starting next week! If this project inspires you to learn quilting, go check out the class!

Cotton prints and cotton/linen blends from Cotton + Steel. The linen blends are a pleasantly textured, medium-heavy weight that would make fantastic skirts, pants, or bags.
