Treadlette Tuesday: Michelle's White Dress

Michelle made this cool, summery white dress from a combination of embroidered and solid cotton.

She used the embroidered fabric judiciously; the bodice back and sides were cut in the solid to save precious fabric! 

 The straps were done with a beaded, braided cord. Beautiful!

Michelle used Vogue 9252, a pattern from the Very Easy line with a high-low hem and cup size options for fitting.

Woven Cotton Stripes and Dots

These woven striped cottons are softer than a classic poplin shirting, with a drapey feel and cloudy soft texture. But like shirting, they are perfect for, well, shirts! Blouses, dresses, pajamas, and skirts would be equally lovely and comfortable.

These dotted cottons are part of the same fabric family, with the dots woven in to create a dobby texture.

It's definitely not too late to start sewing summer dresses! Summer is in full swing and quick projects like this sweet little girl's dress made by Treadlette Rebecca are perfect. Start it this morning and she can wear it this afternoon!

 Rebecca coordinated fabrics to make the cute soft toy match. She said she doesn't have a plan for this dress, but when she saw the pattern, she knew she had to make it! It was too cute to resist!

Rebecca used Simplicity 8347, which includes both the dress and the soft toy!
