A Summer Dress

Check out this cute summer dress made by Treadlette Nina:

The patterns is McCall's 6322.  She combined a mod floral print with two colors of coordinating shot cotton and some large rick-rack at the waist.  Shot cotton is a great choice to coordinate with prints because it's woven with two colors, giving it a subtly iridescent look that blends well with many colors.

  2. Shot cotton? That's a new term for me. Time to go do some more research!

    Cute dress!

On my cutting table right now is blue chambray that I bought a TYG last December when I was in the Twin Cities, ostensibly visiting family but mostly fabric shopping! ;-)

    1. "Shot" describes a weave in which one color is used on the warp and another on the weft, to produce a blended, slightly iridescent effect. It's pretty in cotton, and in silk it's just gorgeous!
