Amy Butler Fabrics

We have bright new prints in the store from designer Amy Butler's Violette and True Colors collections, in quilting-weight cotton and heavier cotton twill.

Amy's eye for color doesn't fail, and in these new designs we're seeing plenty of brights, but also a few calmer, monochrome looks that make perfect blenders.

The medium-weight cottons make fun casual garments and of course great quilts, while the heaver twill weight fabrics are ideal for purses and bags, or more structured garments like jackets.

There's always more to see, so come take a peek!

We have some new knit fabrics from Amy Butler's Glow collection. Bright, modern, packed-in florals and multicolored polka dots give an amazing pop to these knit prints.

Treadlette Sue has combined two of the prints to make Kwik Sew 4084, a mock-wrap-front knit top with fun color blocking and a flattering diagonal line. Way to go, Sue!

Knits are fun, flattering, and versatile, and with Amy Butler's eye for color, they really make a statement!

Ribbons from Amy Butler

The Alchemy collection is the talk at Treadle right now, but also new from Amy Butler is this stunning collection of ribbons, produced by Renaissance Ribbons.

These richly patterned wide jacquard ribbons glow with saturated colors, and the narrower geometric pieces make a perfect complement.

Pair these ribbons with a solid color fabric to highlight their colorful charm, or take it up a notch and use them with some of Amy's new fabrics for a truly eclectic look.

Amy Butler Alchemy

The long-anticipated moment has finally arrived: the new Amy Butler collection is now in stock at Treadle Yard Goods!

But the fabric is just the beginning; Treadle will also be hosting a Trunk Show of wonderful garments made in Amy's new fabric collection.  The Trunk Show starts May 15th; keep your eyes on our blog for more information.

We've been eagerly awaiting her new collection, Alchemy, for a while, and fans of Amy Butler's unique style will not be disappointed.

There's plenty of the classic damask and medallion styles that Amy is famous for, but she's also added some freshness to Alchemy with large, open florals and botanical imagery.

We're also seeing an incredible variety in the textures and weaves available.  Instead of just cotton sheeting, we have a broad array of fabrics, from drapey rayon and silky cotton lawn to nubbly linen blends and rich plush cotton velvet.

The palette is largely cool tones like green, blue, and violet, with sparks of bright warm colors like pink and orange added to the mix in perfect balance.  Amy's amazing color sense really comes through in Alchemy.

With this variety of textures, fabrics, and prints, the possibilities are endless.  The linens would make great jackets or bags.  Rayon and cotton voile are ideal blouse or dress fabrics.  And the velvet and sheeting would be lovely in quilts, throws, and pillows.

There's more in our store, so stop by Treadle and check it out!

Amy Butler

This collection of prints at first seems like a departure from Amy Butler's usual psychedelic, color-punch style. But it's not a new direction, rather a look back, as she's re-released her first collection, Gypsy Caravan.

The palette is subdued by contrast, but still has plenty of color for combinations that can pop or blend, depending on how you use them. These fabrics would be great in a modern quilt or simple summer garments like crisp skirts and dresses.

Amy Butler Trunk Show

I see it's been a couple of weeks since posting here, and what a great couple of weeks they were!
First of all, thanks to you all we had a terrific sale!
Second, some excitement ensued when we received our copies of One Yard Wonders, featuring patterns designed by Treadlettes Jess and Nina!
Third, we said goodbye to the Sewing Workshop Trunk Show and welcomed in the Amy Butler Trunk Show. This trunk show is full of bags, dresses, and aprons, some of which are made up in the new Love line of fabrics.
As the sign above states, all Amy Butler patterns will be 10% off for the duration of the trunk show.

Lastly, we have some fun classes still to come in this session. Our class highlight today is the Fun Stuff with Felt class scheduled for this Saturday at 10 AM.With edges that won't ravel when cut, and a huge selection of colors, felt is a great medium for small hand-sewn projects like barrettes, small bags and crowns.

See you all in stitches,
The Treadlettes.
