Treadlette Tuesday: Sue's Raincoat

Rainwear isn't always something we sew for ourselves, but Treadlette Sue has shown us just how fabulous it can be! She made this cute, practical rain jacket using a laminated fabric and Vogue 1564.

Brass hardware really pops and adds a feeling of structure.

The brass clasps close the front, along with this self-fabric tie belt.

The pattern is from Sandra Betzina for Vogue.

Check out these new lawn prints from Cotton and Steel! Fine, lightweight cotton fabric with gorgeous prints - perfect for soft blouses to layer under a cardigan!

You could certainly use them for quilting, too, as their colorful selvages suggest! Lawn quilts are fine, delicate, and very soft.

Treadlette Nina made this cute printed shirtdress from an Alexander Henry sewing print that's packed with fun details!

She used pink snaps instead of buttons along the front band.

The pocket construction is clever - hidden in the waist seam!

The pattern is Burda 6353. A great layering piece for colder weather!
